In the Name of Love

It's the time of year with Valentine's Day quickly approaching that the pressure rises for many to show their affection for the one's that they love with a little something something. There is also the pressure of feeling un-deserving when your classmate has handed out Valentine's Day notes and candy to everyone in your class except you because they may not like you. Feeling excluded and unacknowledged just plain sucks. I've been there! Yes, it starts at a young age and doesn't exclude the young at heart.

I know of so many love squashers that are like scrooges when it comes to anything about what they feel is a made up holiday. That they profess their love every day of the year blah, blah, blah. I'm not going to go into all of those logistics ( for lack of a better term ) to justify or defend celebrating holidays and I'm also not going to burst anyone's bubble about Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, Mensch on a Bench etc. It doesn't matter what someone's background is or what their relation to you may be...mother, father, sister, brother, husband, wife, significant others'...the list can go on and on...EVERYONE can use a little extra acknowledgement especially on the holidays whether they are made up or not.

A simple bouquet of flowers can be a token and a gesture of love and will not break the bank.

You can grab some flowers from your local supermarket as shown in this picture and assemble them in a vase yourself. The way you assemble them is entirely up to you but, what usually catches the eye is when you add a little touch of something different like the soft lilac wild flowers seen here and take some petals and place them on the table. I went a step further and popped the head of one of the flowers that weren't as perky as the rest into a wine glass. It adds some interest and really is an easy way to make a simple and elegant display of store bought flowers. Make a display, a vignette of sorts and stage a corner of a room or a space. Showering the ones you love with candy, flowers, jewelry, and anything that may particularly come to mind to celebrate cupid's holiday will be hard not to bring a smile to someone's face.

So go ahead and do it ALL in the name of love and by all means take a picture for a keepsake.

Let me know what you end up doing and don't be shy about adding a hand written note to

your gifts! Details do not go unnoticed by most and the world is ever so in need of spreading love.

It's so crazy to see yourself years later and reflect on the experience of being so young working on a film.  So much has changed since that era.

I would love to work with

Paul Morrissey again some day.

Brushing up on my acting skills will be necessary but, I have a feeling it will all come rushing back to me around the right setting and with the opportunity to work on a new project

with him.  I have some ideas for

it too!
